CJS Architects and Visum Development Advance Mixed-Income Housing in Ithaca’s West End

The March 24th meeting of the Ithaca Planning & Development Board focused on three key projects, most notably the unanimous site plan approval for "The Hive," a mixed-use development at 132 Cherry Street. Led by Visum Development, the project was revised to accommodate new FEMA flood maps and will now offer 148 units of low- to moderate-income housing instead of premium market-rate apartments. While the board discussed landscaping adjustments and waterfront access, they ultimately granted approval to allow the developers to pursue state grants. Other items on the agenda included updates for a midrise apartment in Collegetown and site improvements for Finger Lakes ReUse.
