Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship

With the institute’s first class graduating this past August, there is now strong evidence that Golisano’s two‑year model is delivering impressive career outcomes.

We’re proud to share that our team has once again been selected by Golisano leadership—this time to transform an existing building in the heart of Buffalo into the institute’s newest campus center. This location will join the flagship Rochester campus, which opened in 2023, and will offer convenient access for students as well as nearby businesses.

Serving as both architect and interior designer, our team approached this second project with valuable insights gained from the Rochester experience. The original building, designed by Edward Durell Stone, features remarkable architectural elements that guided our design strategy. Its striking column‑free structure, with clear spans reaching up to 58 feet, will be showcased on the first floor through a cutting‑edge presentation space accommodating up to 600 people and anchored by a curved LED wall more than 30 feet long and 9 feet tall. Additional highlights include a dramatic two‑story atrium connecting the fourth and fifth floors, along with a fifth‑floor café that opens onto a south‑facing covered patio.

Our design concept centers on inspiring creativity, collaboration, and entrepreneurship through a seamless integration of architectural and interior design elements. Interior spaces are intentionally crafted to support innovation, featuring flexible learning environments, state‑of‑the‑art classrooms, and strategically placed collaboration zones that encourage interaction among students, faculty, and industry partners.

To further nurture entrepreneurial thinking, the building incorporates dedicated hubs for brainstorming, networking, and incubating new ideas—each designed with a modern, energetic aesthetic. Advanced technology is woven throughout the facility, from smart classrooms and interactive displays to high‑tech conference rooms, ensuring students have access to a forward‑looking educational environment.

Ultimately, the Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship is envisioned as far more than a building— it is a vibrant center for learning, inspiration, and future‑focused design. Through the close collaboration of our architectural and interior design teams, we’ve created a facility that meets the functional needs of a modern business education while setting a new benchmark for aesthetic and experiential excellence.
