Halo Lofts

An adaptive reuse of a pre-existing church converted into loft apartments is located in the historic Grove Place Preservation District in Rochester, NY.

Working with existing parameters of a brick and stone shell and large arched windows, the new building program has been designed to provide 12 apartment units marketed to local Eastman music students.

Each apartment is a two story unit accessed by a common corridor.  The living room is an open volume with a high ceiling and loft above which maximizes the use of the arched windows for daylight and views of downtown.  Wall panels off the apartment entry slide open for access to laundry, storage, pantry and office facilities.  All units are equipped with sound-proof practice rooms.  Bedroom windows are provided on the off-street elevation.
