The main building at the Public Safety Training Facility is designed to provide offices, classrooms, and space for integrated training scenarios for emergency response and public safety professionals.
This facility provides program space for the Rochester Fire Department, Monroe County Fire Bureau, Monroe County Sheriff, Rochester Police Department, Monroe County EMS, and Monroe Community College. The Monroe County Office of Emergency Preparedness and Emergency Operations Center is also located in the building. This creates unique opportunities for cross utilization of space, personnel and the high tech infrastructure required for training and actual emergencies.
CJS Architects lead a complex programming effort that resulted in a building design that provides for the demanding needs of all the users with in a fixed budget amount drawn from a variety of funding sources.
The project was both scheduled and completed in July of 2001.
