Construction Watch: The Cooperage

Work is in full swing at the Cooperage complex on Illinois Street. Ellicott Development Company is converting the long-vacant E. & B. Holmes Machinery Company complex into a mix of commercial, residential and recreational space. CJS Architects designed the project.

Outbound: Graycliff tours include Sundays in the Country

A lot of people believe that in order to view the best of the changing leaves, one must travel to places like Vermont. While Vermont trees are most certainly approaching their utmost vibrancy, we must remember that there are places in WNY that are stunning in their own ways, including the lands surrounding the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Graycliff Estate. Fall is one of the best times of year to visit Graycliff, particularly for this reason.

The Flowery Side of Downtown Buffalo

The talk of the town is the Albright-Knox’s latest mural effort in Downtown Buffalo. The south side of the Ciminelli Real Estate’s Sinclair Building – 465 Washington Street (working title) – has been transformed into a flowery scene the likes of which this city has never seen. Yes, we’ve witnessed some pretty fantastic murals going up around town, but the scale of this one is off the chart. It’s especially nice, considering that there was something missing at that corner, where Washington meets Broadway. Suddenly there is a colorful splash of life that will look sensational throughout the seasons.

Commons construction projects to be completed Summer 2019

Two construction projects currently underway on The Commons are expected to be completed in the summer of 2019. Both will bring new apartment spaces to Ithaca, which has been struggling to meet housing demands.
