The mixed-use residential building hugs the edges of Monroe and Howell becoming the new gateway to the heart of the Neighborhood of Play. The corners of the triangular site are activated by the residential lobby on one end and the curvilinear form of the Geva Education and Engagement Center on the other. The unique form of the building brings its own life to its new playful context while paying homage to the history of Wadsworth Square neighborhood.
The 55-unit building consists of 39 one-bedroom and 16 two-bedroom units housing work-force and market-rate options for the tenants. The building, raised up from street level, provides parking below and elevates the first-floor units. The raised planter along Howell Street also provides a privacy and sound buffer. A large shared common space with a balcony and kitchenette is available on the first floor and a Fourth Floor covered Terrace is a perfect place to view Rochester’s ever-changing skyline.
